Lance Belville is a playwright, teacher and translator with a Bachelor’s Degree in Cinema from the University of Southern California, the premier Cinema school in the U.S. He also has a TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) Diploma from Notre Dame Du Namur University in California.

He spent ten years in Rio de Janeiro as a Foreign Correspondent for UPI and then ABC. He began his translating from Portuguese at that time.

Belville returned to the U.S. where he became an award-winning playwright, with over 100 professional productions of 50 plays.  As a screenwriter he has written four features and two, award-wining documentaries as well as trailers for feature films.

ActingYourWayToEnglish®, Belville’s new theatre-based system for developing English language fluency and comprehension is a amalgam of his professional and life experiences both as a playwright and teacher.

He recently added opera to his repertoire, writing the libretto to Mary Watkins’ opera version of his stage play, QUEEN CLARA.
